Biography

One question,
two environments.

Adolfo Ignacio Fuentes Jofré, Ph.D., is a Research Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Institute of Data Science at Universidad del Desarrollo in Chile.

His research spans computational social science, human and AI decision-making, representation learning, geometry of preferences, complex systems, network science and behavioral modeling.

Before his current academic appointment, he held advanced analytics and data science roles across retail, entertainment, insurance, energy and other large organizational settings. That experience informs a research perspective attentive to both methodological rigor and the realities of implementation.

Rather than treating academic and applied work as separate tracks, his practice connects them through a shared interest: how to make complex decisions legible, learnable and useful.
